Survey Finds 93% of Businesses Planning for Web 2.0 Experiences in 2008

Focus on richer imagery, personalization and user-generated content
are key investment goals for businesses.

Scene7, part of Adobe Systems Incorporated, today released the results of its Web 2.0 Experiences 2008 and Beyond Survey conducted to identify and analyze what online businesses plan to do in the next year to enhance their user experience and drive conversions. This quantitative survey received 347 responses from primarily retailers, manufacturers, agencies and high-tech companies worldwide that sell a variety of products and services online.Findings showed that more than 50 percent plan to deploy Web 2.0 enhancements within the next six months, and over 93 percent say they will deploy within the year. Nearly 30 percent of respondents plan to add 360-degree spin functionality to their sites in 2008 along with other top-ranking features including: alternate views, user ratings, videos, blogs, product tours, online catalogs, personalized messaging, quick looks and personalized stores. The greatest growth for features planned versus already deployed is in the areas of m-commerce, URL/widget sharing, personalized messaging and user ratings.
